We believe burnout is not a personal failure. It is a signal. A signal that something in the way we work, lead, and show up is misaligned. Candidly Unsed exists to name what often goes unsaid in workplaces, leadership spaces, and within our personal lives.  We believe presence is a form of power. That slowing down is not disengagement, but discernment. That authenticity is not performance—it is safety, self-trust, and courage.

We reject hustle culture, grind-based resilience, and leadership models that reward disconnection. We challenge systems that ask people to sacrifice their humanity for productivity. Instead, we create space.
Space to reflect. Space to breathe. Space to unlearn what no longer serves. Space to get comfortably uncomfortable.

Our work is trauma-informed, equity-centered, and grounded in lived experience. We honor choice, consent, and complexity. We understand that leadership does not happen in a vacuum—it happens in bodies, relationships, and systems shaped by power, identity, and history.

At Candidly Unsed, we believe:

  • In living unapologetically

  • Presence is a leadership skill

  • Resilience must be sustainable

  • Equity begins with awareness and empathy

  • Healing and leadership are not separate paths

We are here for the leaders, creatives, and change-makers who are tired of performing strength. For those ready to lead with honesty, compassion, and intention. This is not about doing more. It is about doing what matters—without losing yourself.

What does candid mean: Candid in its purest form means truthful or frank.

What does unsaid (unsed) mean? Unsaid simply means unspoken or not said aloud, but still understood. Think of the head nod when passing someone you don't know, but you want to recognize them. It's the "Okay, I see you!!" without saying it. So to be Candidly Unsed is to be true to yourself without having to say or prove it to others because it is understood in the way you carry your light.

How does coaching differ from counseling? Honestly, all coaching involves a little counseling. To understand behaviors, coaching focuses on the ‘how to’ whereas counseling focuses on the ‘why’ and both use the past to create pathways for the future.

Seek candidacy (coaching) when… you want to elevate in an area of your life, learn how to hone a new skill, need assistance setting and achieving goals, and/or you’re looking to be held 100% accountable.

Seek counseling when… you have emotional and mental health challenges, you want to gain a deeper understanding of the ‘why’ behind your behavior(s), and/or desire support to process a traumatic experience or past trauma. Candidly Unsed does not provide counseling services.

What is holistic life coaching? Holistic life coaching at Candidly Unsed (CU) is centered on the total person concept where we focused on empowerment, empathy, and encouragement that helps you achieve your goals by unearthing the candid you. Additionally, an intake is conducted to understand the mental and social factors that may play a role in the success of your goal completion.

What are Emory Minorities? Emory Minorities is a term used to describe those from the following ethnicities: American Indian, Asian, Black / African American, Hispanic, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and Multiracial.

What makes Candidly Unsed different? Who said we were different? In all seriousness, Candidly Unsed is nothing less than a safe space for you to be who you are, set goals, achieve them, and reap the benefits of your candidness. Don’t underestimate what you can do for yourself as you've already done so much for others.

Why coaching and not therapy? There are several ways to receive assistance and not everyone can afford a therapist nor are they looking for one. At Candidly Unsed, we stand in the gap and help you get out of your own way and onto the path to living happily candid. Coach Zhee does this in a way that doesn’t require a license, medication or insurance. This doesn’t mean we are less qualified to provide services (Coach Zhee is a degreed and certified professional), it means we are a little more authentic, relatable, and dedicated to your progress because there is nothing or no one standing in the way of your success but you.

I am under 21... will you still coach me? At Candidly Unsed, Coach Zhee will see clients that are not directly within CU’s target demographic and provide them with the same quality of service needed to thrive in life. This service is rendered on a case-by-case basis.

Do I need parental consent? If you are under the age of 18, we require a meeting with your legal parent(s) or guardian(s) to receive individual services. It is recommended they are (briefly) a part of the initial intake to better address your needs and service you.
